The Emmi Process, Step by Step
Prescribe
The patient is given a “prescription” for an interactive multimedia Emmi program specific to their procedure, condition or moment in care. Prescriptions can be sent from within an electronic medical record (EMR), central scheduling system or through EmmiManager®, our web-based application. Programs are prescribed by healthcare professionals including physicians, their staffs, central schedulers, care managers and pharmacists.
View
Patients view their secure, password-protected Emmi programs online, at home, at their own pace and as often as they’d like. They can take notes and ask questions of their caregiver from within their program. They can even share their Emmi program with family and friends.
Track
Clinicians and their staffs track the use of self-documenting Emmi programs from within the EMR, the central scheduling system or EmmiManager. They can monitor everything the patient saw, heard and responded to. A record of the patient’s activity is saved for the clinician or healthcare organization in the unlikely event it is needed for legal defense purposes.
Report
Clinicians, care managers and administrators receive detailed reports measuring department and enterprise-wide Emmi program adoption, Emmi program start and completion rates and survey results. These reports enable healthcare organizations to benchmark their progress against established goals and our clients nationwide.
Integrate
Emmi programs are web-based and can be integrated with electronic medical records (such as Epic® and Cerner®), patient portals, scheduling systems and in-room interactive television systems.

The Emmi Solutions implementation team comprises nurses and administrators who have the experience and expertise to help you maximize the benefits of our programs.
